DTF Transfer Application & Care Instructions
DTF Transfer Application & Care Instructions
For the best results, use a quality heat press with even temperature and pressure. Household irons and handheld presses do not provide consistent pressure and are not recommended.
DTF Transfer Application
- Set the heat press to 325°F with medium to firm pressure.
- Pre-press the garment for 5 to 10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Place the DTF transfer in the desired position with the printed side facing the garment.
- Press for 15 seconds.
- Peel the carrier film warm in one smooth motion.
- Cover the design with parchment paper, butcher paper, or a Teflon sheet and finish press for 5 to 10 seconds.
Important: Do not use a household iron. A handheld press is not recommended. Uneven heat or pressure can cause lifting, incomplete adhesion, or premature wear.
Application Troubleshooting
- The transfer is not sticking: Return the carrier film to position and press again for 5 to 10 seconds with firm, even pressure.
- An edge begins to lift: Cover the design and complete another short finishing press.
- The garment has seams, pockets, buttons, or zippers near the print area: Use a pressing pillow or reposition the garment so the print area receives even pressure.
- The fabric is heat sensitive: Test an inconspicuous area first or contact us before pressing.
Washing and Care
- Wait at least 24 hours before the first wash.
- Turn the garment inside out before washing.
- Machine wash in cold water with a mild detergent.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
- Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry.
- Do not iron directly over the printed design.
Sublimation Application
Sublimation settings vary by the blank, coating, fabric, and transfer paper being used. Follow the recommended time and temperature for the specific sublimation blank. Protect the inside of the garment or item with clean paper, secure the transfer in place with heat-resistant tape, and place protective paper above the transfer to prevent ink from reaching the heat press.
